GET DIRECTIONS
Accessible from the west side of the A84 Callander / Lochearnhead road.

NOTES

Boat (your own, restricted to a 4hp engine) and bank fishing. 4 miles long and 700 yards wide. Depth of up to 40 metres.

Rules and regulations.

1.Permission is granted to fish the area covered on the revers of the permit: From the beginning of the loch on the roadside to (A 84) to half way past the second car park and the entrance to the slip way for the boat launch.
2. Species allowed: Salmon, brown trout, perch and seatrout.
NOTE: THERE ARE NO PIKE IN THIS WATER
3. NO SALMON OR SEA TROUT FISHING ON SUNDAYS
4. All fish under 10″ to be returned to the water unharmed.
5. All salmon and sea trout catches to be reported to James Bayne fishing tackle shop in Callander.
6. Camping is by permit only:see Trossachs National Park web site for details .
7.Fire restrictions apply.
8. All fishing stops at 10.00 pm.
9. Remember to obey the countryside code.

FORESTRY COMMISSION FISHING REGULATIONS

A forestry commission fishing permit is issued on the following conditions, any breach of which may lead to its cancellation.

General conditions for game fishing (salmon / sea trout / brown trout).

1.This permit is valid only for the person in whose favour it is granted and entitles him/her to fish with a single rod and line in the water as described on the permit.
2.It is granted on the strict understanding that only legal methods of fishing will be used, that fixed lines and rods set up on the bank are forbidden. The use of bubble float with a team of flies and minnow use is forbidden. All fish caught under 9 inches in length must be returned to the water uninjured.
3.In the periods 1st February to 31st May and 27th August to 31st October, no organic bait (inclusive of worms) and /or multiple hooked lines are permitted.
4.Fishing is not permitted before dawn or beyond one hour after sunset.
5.Fishing on Sunday for salmon or sea trout is prohibited.
6.The permit must be exhibited on demand to any officer of the forestry commission, Forth district salmon fishery board or the police, as must fishing tackle and /or any fish caught.
7.The waters are to be approached only by the recognised accesses. No vehicular access to foreshores is permitted. Private cars are not permitted on forest roads unless specifically authorised.
8.Keep dogs under proper control at all times.
9.The holder must not light or cause fires and must avoid causing damage to any property including farm crops. The disturbance of game or live stock must also be avoided and the holder must shut all gates which he/she has opened.
10.The holder is expected to give every assistance in the prevention of illegal fishing, damage to property or any contravention of any of these conditions.
11.The forestry commission reserves the right to refuse permission to fish to any person.
12.All anglers must adhere to national angling legislation.
13.All anglers must adhere to the Scottish outdoor access code.

Additional conditions for coarse fishing (pike and perch).

1.No diving minnows.
2.All rigs and tackle used for pike fishing must employ a wire trace at all times.
3.Purpose designed rod rests and run indicators must be employed when bait fishing.
4.Avoid excessive noise or other disturbance to wildlife, nesting birds, and farm animals.

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THE ABOVE WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL OF THE PERMIT IMMEDIATELY
